Falls Festival line-up announced: Interpol, Sleigh Bells, The National, The Living End

Interpol. Creepy retired porn stars.

Heaps of "yesterday's heros". I know this will get me 'hipster bashed' (ie. punched for wearing a GO P4K t-shirt, not attacked by bros with ironic moustaches) BUT Sleigh Bells are really the only genuinely exciting band on the list. Hot Hot Heat are still making music? I love Public Enemy, but Australia is obviously the only place where they can still play shows bigger than my Nanna's kitchen. The Muse of hip-hop. AND... The Living End are one of the headline acts. Yes, really.

Mehhhhh.

The Soft Pack are coming back? What's with bands making trips to Australia in twos?

my sentiments exaclty - mehhh. but this is to be expected as these mass music festivals are generally designed for bogans that are always behind the times and mostly into shite music - which makes me think the only band missing from this line-up is Thirsty Merc.

Pretty keen to see Cold War Kids, but not willing to go to a festival for it.

Festivals and people with their differing tastes totally disgust me. Why cant everyone just listen to crispy ambulance and collect all ther rad 7''s maaaan?

like people getting drunk and having fun with their friends is so 1998. Its all about going to gigs on your own and buying obscure records from scandinavia maaaan.

Why would you expect The Falls Committee to get “new and exciting bands”? They are running a business aimed at a majority. The only way they can make money is by providing bands to the masses, that are popular and will sell tickets.

Why do we keep harping on about how crap line ups are when we should be focusing on positives like what Little Timmy Dodgers stated in the awesome “The Drums” thread “in other news die die die release an album worth listening too - and even paying for - shock horror!?”

We are spending way too much time on what we don’t like rather than what we like!

I think that indie kids and hipsters are becoming too skewed. Most of the old bands on this line up are touring new albums and if you are 24 years old(me) you were listening to the first albums of these bands when you were 15.

I know that all your fav bands from the totezz raaad blogs you read wont be touring maybe they should get on kickstarter and raise some funds to get out of the share house communes they live in brooklyn. Probably will not happen.

There are no big fuck off festival bands left... [except Cold Play, Kings of Leon and Muse... all of which are girls bands... which means if your a guy who likes them... you probably are a big pansy :) ] I blame downloading and lack of record sales for this, but that's another story... Why get sunburnt and have to mix with the sweaty-palmed-mouth-breathers when you can just go to a comfortable side show?

:)

So not listening to triple j or nova is skewed?

The National make me irritated to have clothes on they are that good (how good is Boxer). I will not go to this rotten boganville of a festival though. I will try to catch a side show somewhere, with less wankers showing off their "we're full F*ck off" tuff stickers.

Balls out & word to yo momma

love to hear what other great exciting things you will be doing on new years
interpol the national klaxons and cold war kids sounds pretty good to me.

I would pretty much die to see The National, but I would rather die than go to a festival... without any side shows, where does this leave me?
