Harvest gets even better, makes us all feel even older

We were already booking our flights to Parramatta, getting the picnic rug out of storage and waiting in line to buy tickets (we don't really trust this whole "online" "e-commerce" "thing") when Neutral Milk Hotel were announced as the first act for this year's Harvest Festival. Then the organisers turned it all the way up to 11 and added a whole bunch more quality names that deeply resonate with positive memories from our formative/development years — including that guy with sexy leather hips and stompingly catchy tunes that started WW1, a bunch of world-famous beaver-hunting cowboys, that singing baby from Ally McBeal and even the son of legendary physicist Hugh Everett III. Holy bucket bongs.

The full first line-up...

  • Neutral Milk Hotel
  • Massive Attack
  • Franz Ferdinand
  • Primus
  • Goldfrapp
  • Desaparecidos
  • Eels
  • CSS
  • The Drones
  • Black Rebel Motorcycle Club
  • M Ward
  • Superchunk
  • The Wallflowers
  • Walk Off The Earth

Dates and locations (thanks for listening to our/my complaints regarding commuting to Parramatta)...

Sunday, November 10: Werribee Park, Melbourne
Saturday, November 16: The Domain, Sydney
Sunday, November 17: City Botanic Gardens, Brisbane

Tickets on sale Friday, July 12 via the Harvest Festival Website [worried looking emoticon that expresses our doubts regarding server loads and critical mass and the popularity of Superchunk].

And, for those post-Gulf War bambinos, here's a little history lesson...
