The Blueprint 3 tracklist revealed

Admit it, you are just as moist as me over the upcoming Jay-Z record, The Blueprint 3. The first singles - D.O.A and the possible front-runner for song of the year, Run This Town - are two of the better songs Mr Z has put together since, well, forever. Factor that into our precise mathematical calculations that Jay is due another classic (ie.Blueprint, Reasonable Doubt) and it all equates to one thing - the record is (most likely) going to be off the fucking chain.

Today the tracklist was revealed (via Jay-Z's official site):

  1. What We Talkin' About (ft. Luke Steele of Empire of the Sun)
  2. Thank You
  3. D.O.A. (Death of Auto-Tune)
  4. Run This Town (ft. Kanye West and Rihanna)
  5. Empire State of Mind (ft. Alicia Keys)
  6. Real As It Gets (ft. Young Jeezy)
  7. On to the Next One (ft. Swizz Beatz)
  8. Off That (ft. Drake)
  9. A Star Is Born (ft. J. Cole)
  10. Venus Vs. Mars
  11. Already Home (ft. Kid Cudi)
  12. Hate (ft. Kanye West)
  13. Reminder
  14. So Ambitious (ft. Pharrell)
  15. Young Forever (ft. Mr. Hudson)

I heard the rumours regarding an Empire Of The Sun guest appearance, but assumed it couldn't be true and/or someone had it mixed up with the silly amount of chatter over a possible MGMT guest spot. But there is Luke Steele, hanging out with Jay-Z. Passing the blunt and talking shop. And The MGMTz are nowhere to be seen, unless of course they were utilised in a more musical (or 'weedcarrier') role.

Also, not too happy to see that both Pharrell and Swizz Beatz are making appearances. Jay-Z collaborations with both of them have never been all that good. In fact, the giant number of guests makes this look a more like Blueprint 2 than Blueprint 1 AND we all know the problem/s there.

Also, in case you missed it, this is what the album cover looks like.. Um.. WHITE!

This seems as good as time as ever to mention that in the lead up to the record's release on September 11, we will running a special feature on this site - JAY-Z WEEK. More details to follow later BUT if you drop in between September 7 (Monday) and September 11 (Friday) don't be too surprised if you see A LOT of Jay-Z related content. I mean - record reviews, videos, podcasts... the whole seven and three quarter yards. Strap yerself in.
