This Weekend in Sydney: The Wesley Snipers reunion show (and some other things)

Break out the champagne (read: Carlton Draught) Wollongong's favourite sons (sorry Tumbleweed), The Wesley Snipers, have reformed and will be playing a "Yeah, You Can Call It A Comeback" show tonight at Circle Jerk, Episode 5, Sly Fox, Enmore, alongside Sweet Teeth, Hell Setzer and Milkmaids. Free entry, drink specials, friendly people, beer etc.

Full disclosure: we've been intimate with 2/3 of The Snipers. Who's the new bassist guys?

Just down the road at Red Rattler, local legends Scattered Order are launching their new LP, Planet Scrape, with assistance from the always-awesome Dead China Doll, Nhomea and Pimmon.

Additional Friday reading: Dead China Gush.

On the other side of town (in a fucking Crypt!), Kirin J Callinan will be showing off his new album. Your last chance to see him before he fucks off overseas and becomes the superstar he's destined to be. Tickets for the 9pm session are still available for $20 (+ bf).

Accompanying Friday listening: Kirin's new single Embracism.

Somewhere in-between that axis-of-entertainment, there's Good God Friendly Club, which tonight will be hosting the first birthday for party-planning legends, Hand Games. Featuring performances from NO ZU, Holy Balm, Oisima, MC Gaff E, Nakagin and Pelvis. Earlybird tickets are now gone, but general pre-sales are still available for $20-ish.

SATURDAY... it's a new day and there's not much to do, right? Pharaohe Monch at OAF? Bit pricey for one banger. Nantes at Good God? Same, right? Mate, take a night off, you've earned it.

But, Sunday! Sunset People, the regular Hotel Hollywood "bloody mary" hang-out, will feature performances from Nathan Roche & the Wentworth Avenue Breezeout, Yard Duty and Destiny 3000. Always interesting, always free, always worth it. 4pm kickoff.
