#4: Unknown Mortal Orchestra (Part 1)
Unknown Mortal Orchestra, the unlikely New Zealand/Portland migration project, birthed from the ashes of probably one of the best bands of all time (not long after they'd released one of the best albums of all time) were recently in the country to play at a bunch of festivals. Whilst in Sydney — admiring the bats — they took a few hours out of their hectic media schedule to record a couple of songs with us at Matt and Jesse's Warehouse, located just a few dozen staircases above an $8-Carlton-Draught dingbat nightclub and a Maserati dealership.
Here's part one, featuring the "as catchy as diseases from a Ben Lee sleepover" track, Ffunny Friends.
Huge thanks to the band for sparing the time to do this, as well as to Matt and Jesus, for letting us disrupt their day plans with this mini-concert, and Tim at Studios 301, the lovely folks at Spunk, Mr Bigjesus and the entire Crew listed there on the left.
