Aleks and the Ramps
Middle Aged Unicorn On Beach With Sunset

I turn 25 next week. And, considering my history of Irish coffee abuse, complete disregard for road safety and negative Regular John reviews, it's a fair assumption that life past fifty looks doubtful. Thus, this event marks the centrical point of my existence.

It's appropriate timing then for Australia's favourite oddball kooks (sorry Aston Shuffle) to return with a cheeky sombre tune about growing old, having nothing to prove and the philosophical teachings of John Keats.

Middle Aged Unicorn On Beach With Sunset is the first track from Aleks and the Ramps' forthcoming third record, due out early next year. The single is officially released on October 27, the same day the band will be re-releasing their (currently unavailable) first two records, Pisces vs Aquarius and Midnight Believer. All will be purchasable via iTunes and other less popular digital outlets.

The band are also embarking on a quick East Coast romp to celebrate the birthing of the new single, including a headline slot at The Gate's new warehouse space alongside Charge Group.

Thursday, November 10: Buffalo Club, Melbourne
Friday, November 11: The Gate (warehouse), Sydney
Saturday, November 12: TBA, Newcastle
Sunday, November 13: Newtown Festival, Sydney
