I Get So High

Escapism. Oh, wait we've already done this. And so has music. But old habits die young. Or never die. You choose, mate. And when they're done as Perfect as this, there's no reason we can't put another $2 in the boombox, sit back in our inherited Laz-E-Boy chair, pour another Henry Wallbanger and escape to The Better Life. Easy, yes pleasy.

This utterly brilliant slice of bummer-pop heaven is from Alps' forthcoming new record Alps Of New South Wails, the third/final installment in the Alps Of NSW trilogy (following on from Alps Of New South Wales and Alps Of New South Whales). Wails is Alps' ode to the unpopular "guitar" instrument, featuring a collection of songs recorded with the primitive device, cleverly intertwined with more new-age/experimental elements such as drums, drum machines and Newcastle's premium face-smashers Bare Grillz.

Wails will be released on February 11, with pre-orders available now via The Alps Bargain Warehouse for just Twenty Clam$.

A proper LP tour is currently being organised. In the meantime you can catch Alps touring up-and-around the East Coast (starting TONIGHT) with his new besties Ratatat and Canyons:

Monday, January 24: Hi-Fi, Brisbane
Friday, January 28: Manning Bar, Sydney
Monday, January 31: Hi-Fi, Melbourne
