Camperdown & Out

Like most Good Australians, your hatred for the suburb of Manly was undoubtably formed during the turbulent Anti-Fibro Era and then, decades later, solidified after witnessing the despicable behaviour of Cliff "Clifford" Lyons at the 1992 Grand Final when he stomped Matthew Johns to death after the legendary five-eight shimmied past him in the 92nd minute to score what is widely considered one of the top 100 tries of all time. The only name that doesn't include the words "Brett" and "Mullins" to appear on that list.

Here south-of-the-coathanger kings, Camperdown & Out, take one for the team. Your team. My team. Our team. Venturing out to Silvertail Bay to shoot the video for their latest single, which squarely aims at repairing the relationship between Everyone and That Disgusting Shithole. It's a bloody good song, but the hate still probably runs too deep.

The Camperdown & Out LP, Couldn't Be Better, is out this Friday (March 22) via Pop Frenzy. They'll be launching it across the country (Sydney and Melbourne) over the next month. The Sydney show, which is not happening in Campderdown or St Peters or Manly, will also feature local legends Kiosk playing their first show since before the grapple tackle was outlawed.

Sunday, March 24: Red Eye Records, Sydney (3pm, Free!)
Sunday, March 31: The Imperial Hotel, Erskineville, Sydney
Friday, April 26: The Tote, Collingwood, Melbourne
