Straight Arrows
Make Up Your Mind
Long overdue. Of course, I speak exclusively of this song's reference to the emotional frustrations associated with not being afforded the privilege of a peaceful moment on the toilet. And not at all to the fact it's creators haven't released anything since The Keating Years. Whilst retractors, negative creeps and creepy tractor drivers alike will protest that the Straight Arrows have "hardly re-invented the bloody wheel" on this mid-fi punk/pop/party track, I would retort with an argument that you're looking in the wrong direction for your wheel-advancement needs. What's wrong with your brains/arms?
The band's new album, recorded by frontman Owen Penglis "half in his kitchen, the rest in his new, legitimate studio", is expected to be released early next year via Rice Is Nice.
