Moving To The Left

By-pass the uncomfortable feelings associated with pain by speaking in a foreign tongue, as though misery is shielded by a level of interpretation when uttered in a less familiar dialect. A simple, yet completely left-field logic stream, but something that perfectly suits Woods. For they're a band also protected in some manner. Seemingly removed from all elements of nowness, showness and warp-speed PR cycles. And in the consistently disappointing current scope of things, where Madchester lads are now from Newtown, Sydney and hype-driven "artists" are telling critics to "get a real fucking job" and (most significantly) we no longer exist in the same world as The Ultimate Warrior, there has never been a more appropriate time for something so perfectly detached.

Woods' magnificent new album, With Light And With Love, is out April 15 via Woodsist, and streaming in-full now via Pitchfork Advance.
